Romantic places to stay denver – romantic places to stay denver

My husband and I would like to stay for 3 nights that is only over an hr away from the Denver Airport. We are looking to stay in the mountains that has good views and maybe near water for swimming. We are looking into Sept or Oct. Thank you. Denver has strict rules in place. Mask are required both indoors and outdoors. No bars open. No alcohol at all after pm. Likely more restrictions coming.

October in the mountains could be snowing. No swimming holes. An hour from the airport will only put you into the foothills. And, as noted, fall is not a great time to swim. If you can push out to a couple hours you open up a world of nice possibilities such as Vail Sonnenalp or Beaver Creek Park Hyatt.

While swimming holes won’t work, hotel pools can be nice that time of year. You need more than an hours drive to be IN the mountains, but you could stay within one hour with amazing views OF the mountains.

Jillian, any reason why you want to be an hour from the airport? Have you seen the location of the airport? Depending on time of day, you could spend half of your one hour just driving across the Denver metro area. Within your hour timeframe with easy access to mountains.

Know that experts are very worried about Covid19 spiking in Colorado during September and October. If you do decide to travel, I’d make certain everything is refundable or a credit issued for another time. All of the good hot springs are even farther from Denver , with the closest being about 3 hours away – Mt Princeton, Glenwood Springs, and Steamboat Springs. Some of them are requiring reservations this year. To be honest, visiting hot springs under covid restrictions is sorta a hassle.

Depends where you go, and whatever rules they have now are likely to change, so hard to pick the best one. Right now it’s stuff like locker rooms are closed, limited capacity, time limits, etc. You may plan for a particular place then get there and find a 2 hour wait. If covid picks up here I’d bet indoor pools will be closed. Maybe you could find a place with a private hot tub so you could be sure you’d have access.

Also, what the others said, there’s not much within an hour of the airport. It’s way east of town halfway to Kansas. Skip to main content. Sign in to get trip updates and message other travelers.
