Vena Energy and Tata Power have emerged as the lowest (L1) bidders in a solar auction conducted by Gujarat for 700 MW capacity. Both the companies quoted the lowest tariff at Rs 2.78 per unit, winning 100 MW each.
The other winners were Renew Power with 200 MW at Rs 2.79 per unit, SVJN bagged 100 MW at Rs 2.80 per unit and TEQ Power, a subsidiary of O2 Power, secured 200 MW at Rs 2.81 per unit.
The auction was held for 700 MW solar power projects floated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for Dholera solar park (Phase IX).
The tender was announced with a ceiling tariff at Rs 2.92 per unit. The solar power projects will be commissioned at the Dholera solar park.
In the earlier solar auction held by GUVNL in March 2020, the lowest winning tariff had been Rs 2.61 per unit.
